Where to Stay in Mallorca

Off the coast of Spain are the picturesque Balearic Islands that include Menorca, Formentera, Ibiza and Mallorca. As the biggest island out of the four, Mallorca is a popular vacation destination but it can be difficult to decide where to stay! There are no wrong choices on this beautiful island but my top two areas to call home base are below:

Palma

The town of Palma is filled with amazing restaurants and adorable little streets. By staying right in town you can easily walk to meals, see the sights and unwind on a rooftop. The drawback of staying right in town is that you will have to take a car to get to the beach but it is very easy to rent a car from the airport or right in town.

Cala Major

This beach area is about a 15 min drive from town and the perfect mix of staying on the beach but being close to all the amazing restaurants in Palma as well. One thing to note is that all beaches are public so many hotels have beach access as well as private pools for guests. It is hard to beat waking up to a beach view!

No matter where you stay in Mallorca make sure to explore the other areas of the island as well. Going on a boat cruise is a nice way to see the rest of the island without having to rent a car. Some of the most famous restaurants and hotels are on the northern part of the island and should not be missed!
